creativity --> surrealism
This project was a big step for me because it introduced a second figure in a surrealist composition while also challenging me to work with an unfamiliar medium of oil paints. The process was much longer and more difficult than I expected, especially because I struggled with controlling and mixing the paints effectively. One of the biggest challenges was painting the skin tones and trying to make them look realistic and cohesive. Although I think the overall concept and composition were strong, I feel like the execution didn't fully matched the vision I had in mind. Still, the experience was very eye opening. I had enjoyed experimenting with oil paints in Art 3, but this project made me realize that using them in a more realistic and detailed way requires much more control and practice.
